Disclaimer and Other Thoughts

Thanks to a recent announcement by the Federal Trade Commission, I wish to clarify some expectations you may have of my Blog. Some Blogsites exist to sell products. They endorse products for money or for free products. Even if they offer sound advice about the products, they earn money from giving positive endorsements.

The goal of The Writer Interview? The goal is to interview authors, review books, and do related posts. In the process, I may get a free book to review or to facilitate a particular interview. If so, and I fail to mention this, then feel free to assume the book mentioned, came to me free. Also, I may win an author contest, where the prize is the author's book. I may then choose to review the book or post an interview with that author. I'm trying to encourage readers to read the works of the authors I interview, whether they need my help finding an audience or not. I think it's plain, anytime an author does an interview it's to promote a book or the author, usually both. Some readers may not realize this, so I'm stating it here.

My Blog posts may lead to an interview or review being published elsewhere, where I may be compensated. If this is important to you when you read what I post, then consider this point disclosed. My goal is to be as widely read as possible, with my Blog becoming the popular place, for authors to come to, to be interviewed. I'm attempting to build my own fan base, with the hope, my fictional works, reviews, and interviews will be sold for publication someday. Even if not, my Blog interviews are a personal major writing accomplishment. I enjoy writing. I enjoy interviewing people of note.

I hope this makes it clear my Blog has several goals. The least of which is to make money. If that should come someday, then great. I feel when you love writing, if you reach a point where you can live off what you write, this is fantastic. I hope I have made the FTC happy, if they should ever visit one of my Blogs. I hope I have made myself clear to my readers. Thank you for reading this message.
